Ummm.... I'm probably supposed to say something nice here - well, it was really nice out, sunny day, breeze, lots of places to sit - too bad everybody forgot to come.

Except us diehards, of course. The true elite.

That would be the Naruto gang (see photos), K Valentine, and his buddy from Flame of Recca, (don't know his name).... and I did see a few non-cosplayers I recognized (well, mostly cute girls, you know.) And then there were some campus violations, noise problems, etc - the event got shut down midway. I felt so bad (as a musician myself) for the band that was about to go on, they were standing around with their instruments anxiously waiting, then boom. Here come the cops.

Then I thought I'd go have a look at the Eigomanga booth. Anyone seen it? Oh, they took off. Packed up. Naw, they were just there a little while.

Well, there was anime screenings inside, but I'd seen all the titles, so I didn't go look. Let's see - the high point for me was probably the anything for $2 Japanese magazine sale table. And then I got a discount, 4 for $5. So at this point, I grabbed shots of the cosplayers still left (they won prizes, at least - didn't even get to go on stage because the live events were shut down.)

But hey. It was free. And I'd go again, in the hope of a better turnout.

By the way, the quad there - the way the stage was located, and the odd shape of the building facing it (pizza shaped piece of concrete jutting out, perfectly aligned), caused the snare to come shooting back at you one quarter of a second after the drummer hit it. This echo works ok on some songs, if the timing is right, but often was just distracting (to a musician's ear.) I wonder if it was deliberately built that way, to project a speaker's voice back on to the rear of a crowd?

So anyway, like I said, me and the Naruto clan had a quick shoot - and here it is. Look, there's the bands, too.
