Ani-Magic’s Lovin’

What do you think of when you remember your con-days? Cosplays,
viewings, cosplays, special guests, and programmings? If cosplay is the soul of convention going for
you then you must attend Ani-magic in
Running, dancing, drinking, cosplaying around the pool, jumping in the pool with in cosplay, and staying up till the wee hours of the day are just some of the special memories many takes home with them from Ani-magic. Ani-magic is a con for cosplayers “where cosplayers are the main event of the entire convention,” says the chairman of Ani-magic (Revell Walker). It is the vacation event for cosplayers after a year of working hard and representing the anime they love Ani-magic is the place to wind down.
Removed from the busy cities and bustling crowds cosplayers are free from the boundaries of hotel curfews, and restricted areas. Although, small in comparison to the major West Coast conventions like Anime Expo and Fanime, Ani-magics still has all the cosplayer’s needs: space to pose, affordable food, and much lovin’ from the attendees. Here you can make friends around the corner. Room door stays open throughout the day and night welcoming cosplayers to visit each other and hanging out with fellow fans of the same anime. There are anime marathons, and drinking parties for the 18+ groups. Friends meet up with friends and make new friends. To further enhance the experience there is a pirate auction for pirate wenches.
This is a highly interactive convention. It is a well-known fact that every year Ani-magic does something a little different than the last. This year 2006 Ani-magic provided music in throughout the day and inviting multiple bands to play on stage so there was never a down time.
The best part is “Cosplay under the Stars.” The masquerade event is held right next to the pool and “under the star.” For all first time cosplayers Ani-magic is a con for you. Ani-magic emphasizes the fun of cosplaying. Many first time performers walk away with an award. The easy-going crowd and supportive environment makes it easy on the nerves of first time performers. Overall fosters great skits and one-of-a-kind cosplays.
So gear up and plan for Ani-magic 2007! You don’t want to miss a con made especially for the cosplayers, where cosplay “is” the main event. See you there!
