This was the first year for this con.... more local cons are good. A few things I'd like to change, though - the location, good for some things, didn't have any outdoor areas for shooting photos, and the indoor lighting was similarly poor for that purpose. Some inexpensive cold drinks/snacks on the premises would have been nice, too. The price was a little high, but that's understandable for a first year convention, but the parking expense added on to that considerably. However, there was a substantial discount for con goers, so it was $8 for the day. Still, we're at $23 just getting in the door.
However, after all that, I'll say that this was a pretty comfortable and friendly convention. Everyone was pretty laid back, security was unobtrusive (for the most part, shook a few of the hotel staff up, I think) and also unoppressive. There was a mild Yaoi presence, but not really enough to send the unsuspecting screaming in panic. A small dealer's room, but they carried some hard to find items.
The verdict: Would I go back? Sure. See you next year.
